Underfloor Heating in Joule’s Brewery, Market Drayton
Brief
Easyflow was appointed to undertake the floor leveling and installation of a wet underfloor heating system as part of the renovation of Joule’s Brewery, a popular brewery in Shropshire. The project covered three sections of a single building, totalling approximately 300m².
Key Considerations
This was a historic building, with large windows, uneven flooring, and a very large open-plan space for the brewer’s hall. The underfloor heating Shropshire team had to calculate the right design and the depth of screed needed to ensure the finished floor was level and evenly heated.
What We Achieved
Easyflow conducted an initial site survey in November 2024, assessing the existing flooring conditions and identifying any additional challenges. The underfloor heating shropshire team meticulously carried out floor levelling to create a stable base ahead of for the wet underfloor heating and screed application. Concrete screed was chosen due to its strength and compatibility with the historic properties of the building.
A tailored wet underfloor heating system was designed to distribute heat evenly over the open plan floor in sequential zones, and it was installed without complication. The team applied a liquid concrete screed at an average depth of 52mm to ensure the floor was even.
Through careful planning and communication with the client, the project was executed without major complications. The renovated Joule’s Brewery now benefits from a modern, energy-efficient heating system.
