Self-Compacting Concrete for The New Saints FC!
Brief
EasyFlow were tasked to provide a “game-changing” solution for the football club owned by the New Saints of Oswestry. The concrete walkways that led from the entrance towards the seating had been worn down over the years, and our liquid screed Shropshire team were tasked to bring them back to a professional level.
Key Considerations
The job required self-compacting concrete, as this type of screed offers superior strength and durability in high-traffic areas. It can also be used in outdoor weather conditions, an essential feature considering several sections of the walkway are exposed to the elements.
The football club presented a unique challenge, in that these walkways travelled above the seating, and transitioned into steps to access the seating below. Self-compacting concrete is a flowing floor screed, self-levelling as it spreads over the surface it is poured on. We needed to set up leak-proof borders to ensure the floor screeding would not leak into the seating area below.
What We Achieved
To prevent leaks, we set up borders cutting off the screed from the seating, this was then padded with expansion foam which would allow us to remove the borders once the floor screeding was sufficiently cured.
The liquid screed Shropshire team enjoyed every moment of this job. Building the future of this beloved sports venue with self-compacting concrete, a game changing solution for large scale projects. We hope the fans of the New Saints enjoy their new high quality floor.
