Underfloor Heating and Liquid Screed, Alderley Edge
Brief
The client in Alderley Edge Cheshire, contacted EasyFlow to install our EasyStandard system, consisting of underfloor heating and liquid screed.
Key Considerations
The property in question was undergoing an extensive refurbishment. One aspect of this refurbishment were floor to ceiling windows in the living room whose frame were level to the screed pour. This could present a source of heat loss to the system.
What We Achieved
Our underfloor heating installers visited the property to assess the situation and suggest a number of options to the client. We agreed on gyvlon screed, with a strip of insulation between the window and the expansion foam. This would help prevent heat loss from the heated floors through to the windows.
We laid vapor barriers and piping before carrying out a pressure test of the system. AFter this, we laid gyvlon screed to the measured datum point. The window frame was secured as a precaution in case of expansion from the liquid screed.
We hope the client is satisfied for decades to come with their heated floors and fully refurbished property.
