182sqm Insulation, Underfloor Heating & Liquid Screed

Brief

Over a number of months, our underfloor heating consultants worked with a domestic customer to supply and install a full flooring package for his 200 square metre new build. This included a damp proof membrane, floor insulation, anhydrite screed, and of course our signature underfloor heating solution.

Key Considerations

This new build was not originally designed with optimal underfloor heating in mind. Emphasising this was the open plan ground floor, which was 180m² and had many full-height glass windows and doors. The water heated floor layout needed to be designed in several zones that took potential heat loss into account.

What We Achieved

Our underfloor heating surveyors visited the site to observe the current conditions and discuss various options the client had. Following this, we used CAD software to design the most optimal design. Part way through, the client changed his heat source to a ground source heat pump. Thanks to our software, this only required minor changes to the plan.

When everything was fully decided, the Easyflow team installed a 1200 gauge damp proof membrane before installing 50mm PIR floor insulation boards. These were followed by a separating membrane in preparation for the underfloor heating pipes to be put in place directly on top of this. When the water heated floor with a 65mm covering of liquid anhydrite screed.
