Underfloor Heating Project in Prestwich

Brief

Our regular clients, Belverdale Building Contractors Ltd, tasked our underfloor heating team in Manchester to supply and install the underfloor heating and cement screed in a brand new six-bed property spanning three floors in Prestwich.

Key Considerations

The ground floor of the property was made of a concrete foundation, but was not completely weathertight, meaning we needed to use a robust liquid screed that could withstand those conditions.

The top floor of the property was an attic area which had low ceilings. While underfloor heating could be installed here, we had to take the restricted ceiling height into account for this particular floor.

What We Achieved

The surveyors from our underfloor heating Manchester team surveyed the property to analyse its conditions and the height of the top floor. We agreed to proceed with heated floors covered by Topflow Horizontal cement screed for the ground and first floors. This is a robust, high tolerance screed that is water-resistant once fully cured.

Our Easy Standard system was employed for the ground and first floors, with a 75mm covering the heated floor pipes. For the third floor, we used our low-profile Easy Overlay system on the third floor in order to keep the floor height as low as possible.

This is one of several projects where we’ve worked with Belverdale Building Contractors. You can read more about our other projects on our case study page.
