Heated Floors in a Former Cow Shed, Ludlow
Brief
Easyflow were approached by a client in November 2016 to price for our underfloor heating installers to help with the conversion of an old cow shed into a modern home. This included covering the concrete floor with robust liquid screed.
Key Considerations
This was a fairly modern cow shed, with floor insulation already installed underneath the concrete sub-base. Our underfloor heating installer would need to use a clip rail system drilled directly into the concrete to hold the pipework in place perfectly.
What we Achieved
We covered the concrete sub-base with a vapour barrier, then laid the piping for the heated floors into the clip rail system drilled into the concrete. We then attached the manifold and pressure tested the system.
50mm of liquid screed was supplied, pumped and installed by Easyflow. Once the clients’ heat source is in place, our underfloor heating installer will return to site to fire up the system to help force dry the liquid screed.
