500m² Liverpool Warehouse Conversion
Brief
An exciting update from our liquid floor screeding Liverpool team! A client in ownership of a 500m² Warehouse was intending to convert their property away from heavy-duty operations into a new business enterprise. EasyFlow was tasked with levelling its worn floors with liquid screed.
Key Considerations
This was a larger than average pour, but not impossible, as we have carried out large-scale applications of self levelling screed previously. As with those pours, the important thing to keep in mind was that the pour had to be done in a single session to a high standard. Installing in sections would require gaps, or risk developing cracks, neither being ideal.
In addition, the damp proof membranes had to be joined with gapless seals to prevent the formation of air bubbles and an uneven finish.
What We Achieved
Our team consulted with the client and settled on anhydrite screed for the warehouse conversion. It offers faster drying times and is quicker to install than traditional liquid screed, which is essential in this large-scale, single-session pour.
To level the floor, we calculated an average depth of 70mm needed to be poured. Several trucks full of anhydrite screed were transported to the property, and our team worked tirelessly to lay the self levelling screed to a high standard. Now, a week later and deep into the drying process, we have heard nothing but good things from the client.
