Thermio Screed in Shrewsbury, Shropshire

Brief

Our liquid screeders previously worked on the larger area of this barn conversion in September 2016, laying Thermio+ gyvlon screed in many sections of the building. Some parts were left un-screeded as work had not been finished in those areas yet.

The customer, satisfied with our previous work, contacted our liquid screed Shropshire team again in March 2017 to complete the screed works for his en suite bathroom, dressing room and bedroom.

 

Key Considerations

The customer chose to use Thermio+ liquid screed, a thermally guaranteed gyvlon screed formulation. It’s designed to increase the thermal properties of an underfloor heating system, but can also be used for improved acoustics and insulation in a floor.

As our surveyors previously assessed the property and measured the datum points for this particular screed, it was simply a matter of our liquid screeders arriving to the site at a convenient time to lay the gyvlon screed.

 

What We Achieved

Our liquid screed Shropshire installers prepared the existing floor before installing a layer of Thermio+ gyvlon screed. It bonded well with the subfloor and dried to a smooth and robust finish. In 48 hours it will be walkable and construction on the barn conversion can continue once it has dried sufficiently.
